Suej McCall
My Last Picture Show…maybe
December 30 – February 1

Opening Reception
Date: Saturday January 3rd, 2026
Time: 1 pm - 4 pm
Longtime member Suej McCall is Gallery 9’s first featured artist in 2026. Her vibrant watercolor paintings will fill the gallery with color and joy from December 30 through February 1.
This show is inspired by places Suej has traveled and loved. The artist says she has been taken with the beauty of flowers and her love for flowers has bloomed more than ever. The collection on display captures both her adventurous spirit and her deep appreciation for beauty.

The exhibition’s title, “My Last Picture Show,” reflects a poignant truth: Suej is experiencing diminishing eyesight. “This may be my last show,” she shares, “but if there is any way I can keep painting, I will—so I added the ‘maybe’ in the title!”
“Maybe” leaves us hoping for more wonderful artwork from Suej McCall in the future, but we urge all art lovers not to miss this show crowning a long, successful artistic career.

As the year winds down, we turn to the things that bring us joy. This December, Gallery 9 invites you to explore A Few of our Favorite Things — a vibrant and diverse Group Show celebrating the many things which brighten our lives. Our member artists return to their favorite themes and mediums, offering up a collection of ceramics, photography, paintings, jewelry, and more, in time for the Holidays! This show is filled with things we love — and hope you will, too.
Joyful news: In December Gallery 9 will donate part of the proceeds to Los Altos Art Docents, who teach children in our community about all aspects of making and understanding art. Our hope is that we might help children develop an interest for one of our favorite things – Art!

Revery - Mixed Media
November 4 – November 30

Opening Reception
Date: November 7, 2025 (First Friday)
Time: 5 pm - 8 pm

Revery refers to the experience of painting as allowing one to “be lost in one’s thoughts, meditate, fancifully musing”. The title reflects Joyce Savre’s dependence on poetry and music, language, and landscape for inspiration.
Raised in northern Minnesota, Savre draws upon the region’s expansive prairies, sunflower fields, and serene lake country, where she still spends her summers. These landscapes are echoed throughout her work, both in palette and mood.

Music scores and handwriting (symbolizing love of language) are incorporated in her mixed media works, as well as unusual use of used palettes and mesh burlap which provides textures and transparency.
“I work in the moment and draw from what is at hand, that which has meaning and is attractive to me though may be seen as useless to others,” says Savre.

Opening Reception
Date: June 6, 2025 (First Friday)
Time: 5pm - 8 pm

Gallery 9 presents “Symphony of Color & Joy”, a patterned approach to painting lively interiors by Jan Meyer. “I imagine most artists want to form a connection with their audience. I truly believe my paintings, with their vivid color and subject matter, form a bond of warmth and playfulness with the observer”, says Jan Meyer.

Jan delights in working with color, shapes and pattern. Geometrics, florals, stripes and polka dots are combined with intense color, creating ROOMS and BLOOMS. Jan’s aim is to convey an atmosphere of fun, playfulness and JOY. The work is done on canvas, in acrylics, that dries quickly and lets the artist move easily from one pattern of color to another. These rooms form impressions of a SYMPHONY OF COLOR AND JOY, and mirror the spirit Jan hopes to convey, especially during these turbulent times.
