The Oldest Art Gallery in Los Altos

 

Founded in 1970 by a cooperative of nine artists in Menlo Park - hence the name - Gallery 9 relocated to Los Altos in 1973. Today, it remains a vital part of the local arts community, with some of the original members still actively involved.​

Now representing 27 accomplished local artists, the gallery showcases an inspiring variety of work across painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media. This diversity means there's always something fresh and exciting to see.​

Always Something New to Discover​​

At Gallery 9, creativity never stands still. Our member artists regularly debut new work, and each month a different artist is featured in a solo exhibition in the gallery’s front space. This rotation ensures a dynamic experience for returning visitors and new guests alike.

Every visit offers more than just beautiful art - you’ll also have the opportunity to meet and speak with the artists themselves. The gallery is always staffed by a member artist who is happy to answer questions, share insights, and talk about their process.​
